Book as early as possible
Peak season (March–October) tours book up weeks or months in advance. If you're visiting in summer, try to book your tour the moment your travel dates are confirmed.
Light beams happen midday in summer
The iconic light beams in Upper Antelope Canyon only occur when the sun is directly overhead — typically May through July, around midday. Tours at other times don't feature light beams.
Photography tips
Phone cameras work well. For serious photography, Upper and Lower Antelope DO NOT allow tripods. You can check with Antelope Canyon X, Secret Canyon and Mystical about your Tripod. Midday tours in summer in Upper Antelope are best for light beams.
Sold out? Try Secret, X, or Mystical
Secret Canyon, X, and Mystical are compelling alternatives when Upper and Lower are fully booked. They're less famous but equally stunning — and far less crowded.
