Scenic Canyon River Adventure (SGP-5R)

    • Grand Canyon’s Eastern Rim

    • Glen Canyon Dam
  • A light breakfast snack
  • 4×4 tour of world-famous Upper Antelope Canyon
  • Motorcoach transport through a 2-mile tunnel to the base of mighty Glen Canyon Dam
  • 15-mile float trip on the Colorado River through Glen Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Marble Canyon to Lees Ferry, a historic Colorado River crossing
  • Opportunity to swim in the Colorado River

Items to bring:

  • Government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID)
  • Camera
  • Bottle of water or preferred beverage
  • Layered clothing, including swimwear if desired
  • Appropriate shoes for walking on asphalt and sand (water shoes or river sandals preferred)
  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
  • Towel to dip in the water and drape across lap or shoulders for cooling




Pack above items in a clear plastic or PVC bag in compliance with Glen Canyon Dam security regulations. Wallets, credit cards and cash should be carried in pockets. Purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags prohibited.[/one]


Trip duration: 12-13 hours. Trip operates March 1st – November 15th, weather permitting and possibly contingent on a certain number of passengers traveling.

      Since you posted your comment on the Scenic Canyon River Adventure page, I assume you are inquiring about the closest airport to where this particular tour departs from. If that is the case, the closest airport is Flagstaff, AZ (FLG). Flagstaff/Pulliam Airport (FLG) is approximately 90 minutes from Grand Canyon National Park Airport, but most visitors to the area do not opt to fly into there. The most popular airport and staging cities used by visitors to the American Southwest — meaning Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado — are Las Vegas, NV (LAS) and Phoenix, AZ (PHX). Either airport is located approximately 4.5-5 hours from Grand Canyon South Rim.
